Theodore Federoff

Reverend Father Dr. Theodore Federoff, 64 of Elyria, entered eternal life on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at New Life Hospice Residential Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
Born August 12, 1947 in Pittsburgh, PA., he was raised in McDonald, PA.
Fr. Theodore studied at St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary in Crestwood, NY, and received a bachelor's degree from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. Ordained to the priesthood at All Saints Orthodox Church in Wolf Run, Ohio, he pastored there for several years. He then served at Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago. Fr. Theodore received his master's degree in counseling while serving a mission parish in Indiana, PA. Following this, he served various parishes in western Pennsylvania while obtaining his doctorate in Education and Counseling Supervision from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He then moved to Crooksville, Ohio where he worked as the Director of the Perry County Mental Health Center. During that time, he served various parishes as a visiting priest. He continued to serve the deanery as a visiting priest following his move to Elyria. Fr. Theodore also held positions as an adjunct professor in various colleges and universities in Ohio.
He enjoyed reading, studying and was known to be a very philosophical person.
Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Marilyn (nee Patrinka); sons, Dr. Theodore (Carol) Federoff of Trout Run, PA, and Jason (Pam) Federoff of Brighton, Mi; brothers, Very Rev. Fr. Alexander (Vicki) Federoff of San Diego, Ca., Vladimir (Valerie) Federoff of Lakewood, NJ, and Joseph (Sue) Federoff of Sutersville, PA; a sister, Christine (Bill) Grazier of Washington, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Julia (Balkonova) Federoff; and a brother, Deacon John Federoff in 2008.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 2238 E. 32nd Street, Lorain, with priest's funeral service (Singing Away) at 6:00 pm. Divine Liturgy on Wednesday at 9:30 am in the church. His Grace Bishop Matthias of Chicago and the clergy of the Diocese of the Midwest will officiate. Burial will follow in Saint Theodosius Orthodox Cemetery, Brooklyn.
The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain is handling the arrangements.
