Ronald L. Travise, age 67, of Elyria, passed away on Monday, May 04, 2015 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
He was born April 14, 1948 in North Ridgeville, Ohio, and graduated in 1966 from North Ridgeville High School. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War as a E4 specialist.
He was employed for many years at Ridge Tool, Elyria, retiring in 2011.
Ronald was a member of the Eagles, American Legion, Elks and Polish Club, all of Elyria. He enjoyed golfing, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Dennis (Jessica) Travise, of Vermilion; grandsons, Domanik and Jaxson Travise of Vermilion; a brother, Ralph Travise of TN; and a sister, Carol Maxwell of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Eleanor (nee Bliss) Travise; and a sister, June O'Connor.
American Legion Post #12 of Elyria will conduct military honors on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Brookdale Cemetery, 41600 Oberlin Road, Elyria, Ohio. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain is handling the arrangements. To send online condolences, go to www.dovinfuneralhome.com.
