Joseph E. Burress, age 67, of Lorain, died on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain, following a short illness.
He was born on September 9, 1945 in Welch, West Virginia, moving to this area in 1963.
Joe was employed at Lorain Works US Steel and prior to this he was employed for many years at various manufacturing companies.
He was a member of Bethel Chapel, Lorain. He enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years: Marjorie (nee Bonnett) Burress, son: Joseph Jr., daughters: Leona and Lorrie Burress, all of Lorain, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and brother: Randy of Princeton, West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Fred and Hattie (nee Carter) Burress, brothers: JD and Junior, sisters: Gladys and Midge.
The family will receive friends at a memorial service at Bethel Chapel on December 1, 2012 from 3-8 p.m. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44055 is handling his arrangements.
