Jackie H. Rains

Jackie H. "Buddy" Rains, Sr., age 71, of Vermilion, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain.
He was born on September 13, 1942, in Flemming, KY, and has lived in this area for most of his life. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1964 until 1966. Jackie retired from Ford Motor Co. after almost 30 years of employment, where he worked as a lift driver.
He enjoyed working on cars, drag racing, and always looked forward to spending time with his great granddaughter.
"Buddy" is survived by his daughters; Wendy (Randy) Alexander, of Vermilion and Amanda Sheppard, of Stow, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jackie, Jr., a daughter, Dianna Rains, parents; Willie A. and Grace (nee Bentley) Rains, and a sister, Peggy J. Turner.
The family will hold a private burial service at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
