Ivy C. Simms (nee Landy), 79 of Sheffield Twp, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 following a lengthy illness.
Born Sept. 6, 1934 in Lorain, she has lived in the Lorain area all her life.
Surviving are her sons, George of Indiana, Larry of Elyria and Earl of Lorain; daughters, Audrey Swart of Elyria, Elizabeth Alexander of W. Virginia, Virginia Wright and Alice Dryden both of Lorain, and Charlotte Hall of Amherst; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; and a brother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Kenneth E. Simms in 2008; a son Kenneth Jr. in 1952; parents, John Landy and Audrey Landy; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
The family will receive friends on today, Nov. 14th from 6-9 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, with a funeral service at 7:00 pm. Rev. John Tilley will officiate.
