Florence B. Brusk

Florence Bernice Brusk , formerly Brzuszek, age 80, of Lorain, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Holy Family Home, Parma, following a brief illness.
She was born on April 3, 1934 in Elyria, Ohio. She was a graduate of St. Stanislaus Grade School in 1948, St. Mary's High School in 1952, St. John College of Cleveland in 1965 and the University of Detroit in 1970. She taught in 3 catholic grade schools, Diocese of Cleveland, and Archdiocese of Detroit for 32 years of full time teaching.
In 1955, Florence entered Sisters of St. Joseph, Third Order of St. Francis in Garfield Heights and was known as Sr. Mary Ambrose. She left the order in 1980. She then returned to Lorain in 1989 to be caregiver to her mother for 15 years.
She enjoyed teaching, polish dancing, reading and letter writing.
She is survived by her brother, Joseph Brzuszek, of Monroeville, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph M. Brzuszek and Bernice Agnes (nee Oseka).
Private services will be held by the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.
