Elvira McVey (nee Alessio), age 97, of Lorain, died on Saturday, December 07, 2013 at Life Care Center of Elyria, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on October 16, 1916 in Monesson, PA, living in Lorain most of her life.
She attended Lorain High School. Elvira was employed as an assistant cook at Admiral King High School for 24 years, retiring in 1985.
Elvira enjoyed ceramics, sewing and knitting.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Faith) McVey, of Elyria, daughter, Donna Martin, of Spencer, 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, in 1970, parents; Leonard and Carmella (nee Perri) Alessio, brothers; Ernest and James Alessio, and sisters; Jeanette Velardi and Rose Lombardo.
The family held private services.
