Bosko Vujosevic

Bosko Vujosevic, age 89, of Lorain, died Sunday, May 6, 2012 following a lengthy illness.
Bosko was born in Montenegro, Yugoslavia and came to the United States in the 1940's. His childhood was very traumatic as he and his father were taken to a concentration camp and held for many years. He joined the British Navy and was able to defect to the US and start his life on his own. He knew he had an aunt in Lorain, so he came to Lorain and never left. He retired in 1982 from Lake Terminal Railroad with over 30 years of service.
He was a founding member of St. Mark Serbian Orthodox Church in Sheffield Village and served as President of the church for many years. In 2009, he was declared the Honorary President of the church. He was very involved in the construction and expansion of the St. Mark Monastery property and was very proud of what the congregation was able to achieve. He was very active in organizing and overseeing all church functions, including bingo and monthly meetings. Bosko was also a member of the Serbian National Defense.
Bosko is survived by his loving daughters, Sandy (Bryan) Garcia of Lorain, Simone Reid of Lorain; 3 grandchildren, Philip Bobel of Lorain, Vincent Garcia of Orlando, Florida and Amanda Garcia of North Ridgeville; devoted brother and sister in law, Jim and Katherine Drysdale of Lorain; sister; Olga Kljajic of Serbia; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sonja Bobel in 1993; wife Borka in 2001; parents, Radoje and Blaga (Popovic); brothers, Marko and Branko; sisters, Senija Sukovic and Saveta Kuc.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 4-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where a parastas service will be at 6:30 p.m. Friends may also call on Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at noon at St. Mark Serbian Orthodox Church, 1434 Lake Breeze Road, Sheffield Village. The Rev. Leontije Alavanja, pasto,r will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mark's Cemetery, Sheffield Village.
